Les Amis de L’ABC

“The friends of the ABC” is what they called themselves; they were loud, unwavering, and passionate in their causes, and anyone who had the pleasure of meeting them, or even being in their vicinity, knew that they were destined to become historic.

These young men, who apart from each other were entities of their own, when brought together, were were a political force, the likes of which universities everywhere hadn’t seen in years.Their protests inspired every emotion; from hope, to reverence, to hate. They garnered followers faster than any of them, even Enjolras, would have ever imagined.

They were destined to become historic. They were destined to change the world. Destined to leave a mark.

This would be their downfall.

Order goes: Enjolras, Combeferre, Courfeyrac, Grantaire, Prouvaire, Joly, Bossuet, Feuilly, Bahorel

THAT COMBEFERRE THERE.

THAT’S IT. THAT’S MY HEADCANON RIGHT THERE.

janexo is sometimes really cool, like i read an article about how this woman was raped at disney and they handled it terribly, and something about how this woman “acts like a bimbo” (paraphrased) to get respect b/c ppl see her as female and nonthreatening and then she goes for the kill b/c she’s smart and confident.  and there were rude ppl in the comments who were shut down pretty quickly.

but then i also read an article abt how this girl is pretty and she doesn’t like it b/c ppl mention that but not her job as a scientist or something.  like it must really suck being intelligent AND conventionally attractive like donnez moi un break.  and i read something abt this woman who never wears high heels and assumes every woman who wears them and says they’re comfortable MUST be lying and like she PITIES them and thinks they’re brain washed.  like i’m sorry not everyone wants to wears flats and orthotics all the time jfc

so idk

in general i think the anything goes attitude is pretty good b/c then you actually get some pretty forward thinking and socially conscious pieces, but then you also get things that are pretty eye roll worthy

why are white people so concerned that the misogyny in kanye’s songs will “blunt his impact”?  i’m sorry but if we’re so concerned abt providing “articulate commentary on race”, why aren’t we dealing with our own racism??
